Dasara celebrations at Sri Kanakadurga temple in Vijayawada

Officials to use Kaizala mobile app to communicate on arrangements.

Vijayawada: The state government is planning to conduct the state festival — Dasara celebrations at Sri Kanakadurga temple in Vijayawada with high standards of technology taking a cue from the success of Krishna Pushkaralu.

The officials took positions at various places, including the bathing ghats of Krishna River on Friday evening as the Dasara celebrations are scheduled to commence from Saturday.

The district collector has advised the officials to use Kaizala app for better coordination among officials. He asked the officials to form a group on Dasara duty to pass on information effectively. He said there should be no compromise on the arrangements and the officers on duty should be devotee-friendly to make the Dasara celebrations a success.

He said as the water level in Krishna River reached 12 feet and there was a chance of excess inflows with rainfall in catchment area, officials should take safety measures at various ghats including Durga, Punnami, Padmavathi, Krishnaveni ghats and at Pavitra Sangamam. He said special attention should be paid for maintaining cleanliness at the ghats.

The collector asked the officials to give priority for the convenience of common devotees by following the same pattern used during Krishna Pushkaralu in which nearly 1.75 lakh devotees had a darshan of the presiding deity on a single day. He said there should be no deviation from the decisions taken by district administration.

Kanakadurga temple executive officer A. Suryakumari explained about the measures taken by the temple authorities for Dasara celebrations. Irrigation officials explained about the arrangements at the various ghats.

The civic officials said sanitary workers are pressed into service to maintain cleanliness at the ghats and temple surroundings.

The collector asked the railway officials to make special arrangements at the railway station as thousands of devotees will visit the city during the Dasara celebrations.
