Nodal officer for each district to develop EMDP in schools

Vijayawada: School education commissioner S. Suresh Kumar emphasised the importance of providing students with top-tier education and skills to grant them the best global opportunities. He shared these thoughts during a workshop focused on the 'Entrepreneurial Mindset Development Program (EMDP)' for Class 9 students in Andhra Pradesh Government Schools. The workshop took place at SCERT on Thursday.

During the workshop, Suresh Kumar directed the district science officers to foster 21st-century skills such as effective communication, critical thinking, innovative problem-solving, and creativity. This approach aims to help students unlock their potential and take on leadership roles within their schools and classes. He emphasised the need to equip young learners with the necessary tools for a sustainable future. He further suggested the appointment of a dedicated nodal officer for each district to oversee the implementation of the EMDP within schools.

Director of SCERT Dr. B. Pratap Reddy noted that the implementation of EMDP procedures began in schools in 2021. He also mentioned that projects presented by students at the national level were discussed and highlighted. The event saw the participation of science officers from all districts, along with state nodal officer Dr. T. Padmavathi, state programme manager Satish Dulla, programme lead Jayawardhan were among those present on the occasion.
