Only YSRC govt can develop north Andhra, says MLC

Ruling party MLC Duvvada Srinivas slammed Lokesh for using abusive language against the Chief Minister

Vijayawada: Ruling party MLC Duvvada Srinivas has opined that development of north Andhra region can only be accomplished by the YSRC government, thanks to the determination of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, he said that the Telugu Desam government had completely neglected districts in that region, including on the medical front and construction of Bhavanapadu port.

Srinivas said there were several instances where kidney patients from Uddanam had to travel to Srikakulam or Visakhapatnam and stand in queues for dialysis. Having seen such problems and concerned at the plight of the locals, Jagan Mohan Reddy sanctioned a superspeciality hospital at Palasa and ensured supply of fresh water from irrigation projects at a cost of Rs 750 crore.

The MLC said former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu had ruined north Andhra during his four-decade political career while Reddy took the historic decision of making Visakhapatnam the state’s executive capital.

Srinivas flayed Nara Lokesh for his remarks on Polavaram Project and Sujala Sravanti and said that the two TDP leaders had no moral right to speak on these projects. He slammed Lokesh for using abusive language against the Chief Minister.

He said that the foundation for Polavaram project was laid by YS Rajashekar Reddy but the TDP government stalled its progress.

The YSRC leader observed that TD leaders were least concerned about the Vamsadhara project and Bhavanapadu port despite promises made to the peple. However, Reddy has prioritised the two projects and is determined to complete them in the next 30 months. Besides these, the government started construction of two fishing harbours in Srikakulam, Bhogapuram airport, a six-lane highway at an expenditure of Rs 14,000 crore and the beach corridor in Visakhapatnam, he said.
