TRS MP Santosh Kumar gives Rs 3 crore for forests
Hyderabad: TRS MP Santosh Kumar visited inaugurated the eco tourism park during his visit to the Keesara forest on Saturday. He said that after adopting the forest for the betterment of society, he had got recognition.
He allocated an amount of Rs 2.97 crore from his MP Local Area Development fund for the forest.
A mega plantation event was organised with the cooperation of the locals and students who had come in large numbers.
Nearly 10,000 saplings were planted in the degraded forest. Locals and villagers congratulated Mr Kumar on his decision to adopt the Keesara forest and for promoting eco-tourism.
Speaking at a public meeting afterwards, labour minister Ch. Malla Reddy said Mr Kumar was the first MP to give funds for forest development. He urged the MP to take responsibility for the development of the 1,550-acre forest, pond beautification and fencing throughout the forest area and secure more funds for the eco tourism park.
