LPG tanker rolls off road near Ambur, none hurt

As the bund was slippery due to rains and drizzle, it took four hours to get the tanker back to the road.

VELLORE: A tanker carrying a load of LPG was on its way to Chennai on Friday. Starting from Hosur in Krishnagiri district, the tanker was driven by one Sekar of Thuraiyur, Tiruchy.

On Saturday by 8 am, as the tanker was moving along the Vettuvaanam tank bund in Palliconda on the Chennai - Bengaluru highway, the driver lost control, and the tanker hit the tank bund and toppled to its side on the road.

Onlookers alerted the Palliconda police and the Gudiyaatham fire and rescue personnel.

Ambur DSP Satchidanandam, Palliconda inspector Govindaraj and other police personnel rushed to the spot and checked for any gas leak. Luckily, there was no gas leak.

A giant crane was summoned. As the bund was slippery due to rains and drizzle, it took four hours to get the tanker back to the road.
