Over 40 groups, including Wipro, Infosys, ELCIA, Whitefield Rising, Bellandur Jothege, Carmelaram Unites, Trainspotters, Rail Prayanikara Vedike, Bengaluru Bus Prayanikara Vedike, Praja RAAG and numerous commuter joined hands for the campaign.

The campaign started from Yeshwanthpur by afternoon and by the time it reached Heelalige station thousands had gathered.

Tara Krishnaswamy of Citizens for Bengaluru told Deccan Chronicle, “We received tremendous response from people, mostly employees of IT companies located on the Outer Ring Road and also students from Ambedkar Dental College. It started from Yeshwanthpur and the number of supporters increased with every station. By the time we reached Heelalige, the number was close to 1000. The station master was shocked to see a huge crowd queuing up for return tickets and asked us to wait for some time to print them. Usually, that station does not receive such large number of passengers.”

The Friday's event was also a platform for the members to submit a memorandum stating a list of demands to the state Chief Secretary Vijay Bhaskar.
