Hyderabad: Electricity engineers of the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company (southern discom) suddenly began an indefinite hunger strike on Thursday night. They were protesting against the revocation of promotion orders.
They staged an indefinite hunger strike at the office of southern discom chairman and managing director G. Raguma Reddy at the SPDCL near Mint Compound.
Mr Raguma Reddy had issued revocation of promotion orders earlier in the day on Thursday as the High Court had taken up a suo motu contempt case on this issue.
Sources identified the electricity engineers who participated in the hunger strike as Madhusudhan Reddy, Janaiah, Ramesh and others.
