Cricketer AT Rayudu lunges at man on morning walk
Hyderabad: Cricketer A.T. Rayudu’s SUV allegedly hit an elderly person who was on his morning walk. The cricketer then beat the man who asked him to drive carefully on the narrow roads, amid an angry exchange of words.
The incident occurred in a lane leading to the Uppal cricket stadium, where Rayudu is playing a Moin-Ud-Dowlah match.
When Rayudu’s black Range Rover struck him, the pedestrian, who was not injured, told Rayudu angrily to drive carefully.
Rayudu stopped his vehicle and started shouting at the man. Both started abusing each other.
Even as passers by were filming the scene on their cellphone cameras, Rayudu got down and tried to approach the pedestrian.
They were separated by the passers by. However, Rayudu lunged at the pedestrian and hit him before he was persuaded to get into his car and drive away.
Rayudu was not available for comment. The Uppal police said no complaint had been lodged.
“If we get a complaint, we will register a case,” Uppal inspector K. Narsing Rao said.
