Hyderabad High Court refuses exemption to Jagan Mohan Reddy

Justice M. Satyanarayana Murthy observed that the YSRC chief had suddenly “invented the cause of padayatraâ€.

Hyderabad: In a major setback to YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy the Hyderabad High Court refused to grant him exemption from appearance in the pending cases against him for his scheduled padayatra to begin on October 2.

Justice M. Satyanarayana Murthy observed that the YSRC chief had suddenly “invented the cause of padayatra”.

The judge said that the Supreme Court had also made an observation that the petitioner was facing charges of serious economic offences.

Earlier the High Court had allowed Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy to appear before the Special CBI Court on Fridays.

When he moved an application for exemption even on Fridays, the CBI court dismissed his petition. Challenging this, he had moved the High Court.
