Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday issued a bailable warrant in a contempt of court case against nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson who is a complainant in the cash for vote case.
Justice B. Siva Sankara Rao issued the warrant after noticing that the alleged contemnor failed to appear before the court in the case. While issuing the warrant, the judge directed the city police commissioner to execute it.
The MLA was directed to furnish personal surety of Rs 1 lakh during the execution of warrant and also directed to be present before the court on September 30. When the petition came up for hearing on Wednesday, the judge found that the MLA was not present before the court despite the notice. and issued the warrant.
