Kerala University to hold direct spot admissions
Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala University has decided to conduct spot admissions directly in colleges affiliated to it in the wake of allegations of malpractices in the process. The decision is restricted to this year only and the university will decide whether to continue with it later.
The malpractices were brought to light during the investigation into the stabbing incident in the University College. Many SFI trouble-makers had allegedly got admissions with the help of some teachers. For this, some seats were kept vacant for them. The colleges themselves had been making spot admissions in vacant seats after the admission process was over. All qualified except those who have already secured admissions in other colleges are eligible to participate in the system.
