Hyderabad: Woman dies as SUV rams into bike

Hyderabad: A 28-year-old woman died and another person suffered fractures when a speeding SUV driven by an engineering student, who did not have a driving licence, rammed into a bike on Tuesday night.

The accident took place on the service road near Suraksha Hospital in Kompally under Pet Basheera-bad police limits. The deceased has been identified as Udaya-giri Sridevi, 28. Her nephew U. Kedarna-th, 20, escaped with injuries.

Pet Basheerabad police said, “The driver dir not have a driving licence. A case has been registered against him. We are investigating to find out from where the car was taken on rent.”

Sridevi was a resident of Dulapally area and Kedarnath was from Kukatpally. “The driver could not control the SUV. After hitting six vehicles parked on the service road, it rammed into the scooter,” said inspector M. Mahesh.
