Garbage dumping woes irk residents, GHMC in no effort to clear mess
Hyderabad: Irregular garbage dumping in the localities of Marredpally is continuing without any effort by the civic authorities to clear the mess.
Residents of the area, as a result are suffering from the menace of street dogs and mosquitoes. For the past one year the issue has remained unresolved, residents said.
One can find the lanes of Street 8 of west Marredpally filled with garbage and a foul smell emanates from the lane at all times. Many streets in the locality share the same fate.
A senior resident of west Marredpally, T. Mahadevan said that the situation has been the same for many months now. He added that though a new road had been laid in the lane, the problem of mounting garbage has not been solved.
Due to this, a number of reptiles creep into the street and make it difficult for children to play in the area.
Another resident of Marredpally, D. Mukesh Chutkey complained of the menace of street dogs. When contacted, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials were not available for comment.
