Corporates join hands to improve facilities in Indira Gandhi Zoological Park
Visakhapatnam: Divis Lab assured to provide Rs 20 lakh for establishing RO water system in the zoo park and Dr Reddys Lab agreed to pay Rs 5 lakh for establishing nature library for visitors. Many other companies have also shown interest in the scheme and would announce their support after discussion with their company heads.
Representatives of various companies promised to contribute for the zoo at a meeting held by the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park here on Sunday. The meeting was aimed at involving the the corporate sector in animal adoption schemes under the Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) at Zoo Bioscope.
The zoo curator presented the critical zoo management issues, objectives and animal adoption scheme, including Hudhud destruction and restoration, etc.
While addressing the corporate representatives, additional principal chief conservator of forests N. Prateep Kumar, Visakha-patnam, reiterated need of public participation in the zoo management, besides contributing the common cause of captive breeding.
The corporates were also explained about the need of corporate social responsibility towards cause of zoo management and animal adoption scheme, which are exempted under Income Tax Act.
Reprsentatives from various companies including Alivira Animal Health Links, Dr.Reddys Lab, andustoms Appraiser attended the meeting.
