Notices to Telangana government, TSPSC on PET jobs

The petitioners submitted that the state government and the commission issued the notification for recruitment of PETs.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Friday issued notices to the TS government and the TS Public Service Commission on a petition challenging a notification issued by the TPSC for recruitment of physical education teachers in residential schools run by the state’s Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society.

Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao, while dealing with a petition by K. Reddya Naik and another, made it clear that any appointments made pursuant to the notification shall be subject to final outcome of the petition.

The petitioners submitted that the state government and the commission issued the notification for recruitment of PETs in violation of the norms prescribed by the National Council for Teachers Education.

They submitted that as per the NCTE norms, only those who had represented at least the district in sports meets were allowed to compete for the post, but the government was allowing everyone to participate.
