Kerala: Jalanidhi to shoot success stories
Documentary to help panchayats to know project well.

Kochi: Jalanidhi, a World Bank aided Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project under the Kerala Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (KRWSA) is documenting its success stories spread across Kerala for more than a decade.
Jalanidhi’s unique service delivery is based on the sound principles of community cost sharing and management of operation and maintenance by beneficiaries themselves.
The documentary film is being shot to help those panchayats who still face acute shortage of drinking water, understand what Jalanidhi is all about and how this project would be beneficial to their area.
The communication team of Jalanidhi under the leadership of Mr.Rahul U S (Deputy Director) is currently working on 16 such documentaries and is planning to screen the pilot show at the next Assembly session for all the Ministers and MLAs of the state. This would help MLAs get a clear understanding of the project which would in turn be beneficial to their constituencies. The documentaries are of various durations.
One documentary, having a 20 minute duration, talks about the success of this project at the state level. There are three region-wise documentaries of 10 minutes duration each and the rest are of five minute duration.
Separate documentaries are made on‘Jalanidhi Heroes’. They are to be positioned as brand ambassadors of Jalanidhi. These heroes were recently honored by the Minister for Water Resources, Mathew T Thomas, at a function organized by KRWSA.
The idea for such a documentary came up when Mrs. Tinku Biswal was the Executive Director of Jalanidhi, followed by A R Ajayakumar who assigned HR Director Mr. Premlal M with the task of producing it.
Ad agency MediaMate was selected through a transparent process. Director Mr. Viju Varma and team are now working on it for more than two months.
The switching on ceremony of the documentary was done by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the scripts were prepared under the supervision of the Water Resources Minister.
