Heavy rain lashes parts of Telangana

The low pressure is likely to result in heavy rain till July 3 across the state.

Hyderabad: Several districts received copious rainfall with the monsoon being vigorous over the state. Nizamabad, Khammam and Warangal districts have received more than 50 per cent above their normal rainfall.

A low pressure area has formed over the west central Bay of Bengal off north coastal AP, reinvigorating the monsoon. The low pressure is likely to result in heavy rain till July 3 across the state.

Warangal received 17 cm and the Munneru river was overflowing. In Khammam, inflows began into the Koulasnala project after two years. Adilabad received 9 cm rainfall. Hyderabad recorded 8.6 mm rain upto 7.30 pm.

The monsoon activity has also turned intense in Maharashtra with Nagpur receiving 22 cm of rainfall.

Heavy rain was reported in the Western Ghats in Karnataka.
