Suspected Boko Haram terrorists kidnap 2 AP men in Nigeria

Sources said that Srinivas and Sharma were kidnapped when they were travelling in a convoy of three cars.

Visakhapatnam: Suspected Boko Haram terrorists on Wednesday kidnapped Mangipudi Sai Srinivas, 44, an engineer from Vizag, and his North Indian colleague Anish Sharma, from Gboko, a town in the Benue state of North Central Nigeria.

The incident came to light on Thursday when family members of Mr Srinivas approached district collector N. Yuvaraj and police, requesting them to take steps to get Mr Srinivas released.

Sources said that Mr Srinivas and Mr Sharma were kidnapped when they were travelling in a convoy of three cars to the Dangote Cement Plc plant from their residential quarters at 7.20 pm.

Abducted Srinivas was going to factory
After the two cars in front passed a signal, a group surrounded the car, dragged the driver out and kidnapped the two Indians.

Mr Srinivas’ wife M. Lalitha said that her husband was a civil engineer working for Dangote Cement. “I tried to call my husband on Wednesday but the call didn’t connect. Later I called up the officials of the cement plant and they said that my husband and Sharma, had been kidnapped,” Ms Lalitha added.
