Chennai: Feud over water lands ex-DSP, son-in-law in police station
Chennai: The Vadapalani police have taken a former DSP and his son- in law for questioning. The duo allegedly attacked their neighbour over a water problem in their apartment.
According to police, complainant A. Jiyautheen Mahamed( 53) a resident of Perumal Kovil street in Vadapalani on Thursday approached the Vadapalani police station to take actions against the former Ambasamuthiram DSP Ramaswamy and his son-in-law Prabu, who lives on the ground floor of the three-floor apartment.
Police said the incident happened a few days ago when the water tanker arrived at the apartment. Jiyautheen alleges that when water tanker comes, the former DSP Ramaswamy allegedly took the pipe out from the tanker and used all 12,000 litres of water for his house. When the angry residents of the other houses in the apartment questioned him he allegedly threatened them and even hit them. Jiyautheen said his son- in law also attacked him the next day, following which he lodged a complaint with the Vadapalani police. Jiyautheen also submitted CCTV footage of DSP and his son-in-law hitting him as an evidence. A case has been registered and the Vadapalani police have taken the men under custody. Investigations are on.
