Why amaravati bonds are not tax exempted: Dr C Kutumba Rao

He said the Centre had also granted tax exemption to the Gujarat International Finance Tec City near Ahmedabad.

Vijayawada: The AP government has asked the Centre why it did not allow tax exemption to Amaravati capital bonds, despite granting such exemption to the Sardar Patel statue, under Section 80 (G) of the Income-Tax Act. He said the Centre had also granted tax exemption to the Gujarat International Finance Tec City near Ahmedabad.

AP Planning Board vice-chairman Kutumba Rao said a major portion of Rs 6,800 crore sugar cess was diverted to UP and Maharashtra, for the BJP’s political benefits. NCDC had given Rs 5,000 crore to Rajasthan towards farm loan waiver, while AP was still trying to find out ways and means to pay the fourth and fifth instalments of loan waiver, Mr Rao said.
