Re-evaluation helps Belagavi boy top SSLC exams

He decided to apply for revaluation and succeeded in scoring the full 625 marks, that put him in the company of the first rankers.

Belagavi: His dissatisfaction at his marks and revaluation of his answer script has helped a Belagavi student bag the first rank in the recent SSLC examination. Mohammad Kaif Mulla of the St Xavier's High School, Belagavi, scored 624 out of 625 and was given the second rank when the results were announced a few days ago.

But now he will share the first rank with two other students, Yashas M S of Mysuru and Sudarshan K S of Bengaluru, who have also scored 625 marks each to top the SSLC examinations. Mohammad Kaif has been a topper in his school from the very beginning, but when the SSLC board results were announced on May 7, he found himself sharing the second rank with eight other students on account of scoring 99 in Science but 100 out of 100 in all the other subjects.
Confident that he had not committed any mistake in his Science paper, he decided to apply for revaluation and succeeded in scoring the full 625 marks, that put him in the company of the first rankers.

While his family and teachers celebrated, an elated, Mohammad Kaif said he was extremely happy at having got his expected marks in his SSLC examination and would now choose the Science stream for his pre-university education. “I would like to do medicine after my PUC and also prepare for the civil service examinations,” he added happily.
