Kerala High Court denies bail to abuser priest
The court has rejected the bail plea of Robin Mathew Vadakumchery, the accused for the third time.
Kochi: The High Court has rejected the bail application of, the prime accused in the Kottiyoor sexual abuse case. The court has rejected the bail plea of Robin Mathew Vadakumchery, the accused for the third time. The prosecution has submitted that the accused having connections at higher levels would influence witnesses if granted bail.
He also had tried to flee abroad once, it was pointed out. He is facing charges of sexually assaulting a girl while working as the parish priest in the St. Sebastian Church at Kottiyoor near Iritty in Kannur under Syro-Malabar diocese of Mananthavady.
