Kochi: A 15th Finance Commission team led by Chairman N.K Singh on Thursday visited Kochi Metro to assess its functioning. The team visited the Operation Control Centre at Muttom yard and also took out a Metro ride from Edappally to Muttom along with Kochi Metro Rail Limited managing director Muhammad Hanish. The KMRL chief briefed about the station details and future expansion plans.
The Commission has instructed the KMRL to accelerate the second phase development and also to hasten the measures to identify alternative revenue generation. The team including Shaktikanta Das, Anoop Singh, Ashok Lahiri, Ramesh Chand, member secretary Arvind Mehta, joint secretary Mukhmeet Singh Bhatia and Ajit Patil also held discussions with top officials at Muttom yard.
