US woman held at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

US officials checked her documents and found nothing suspicious.

Hyderabad: A 35-year-old US woman was caught at the RGI Airport parking lot on Tuesday. Police said that Keith, hailing from Washington, was spotted moving around in the parking area by the security and handed over to the police.

After inquiry, she was referred to the US embassy. Police said Keith, who was working as a teacher came to New Delhi two months ago on a tourist visa and travelled to Goa and then to Hyderabad by road.

Around a month ago, she reached Hyderabad and was staying at a hotel. On Tuesday morning, airport personnel found her moving suspiciously in the parking lot and apprehended her. “Her visa is valid till December 2016 but she did not have any cash.

Suspecting that she was mentally ill we handed her over to the US embassy," RGIA inspector P. Sudhakar said. US officials checked her documents and found nothing suspicious. They took her to a shelter home in Amberpet where she will be kept till the probe is over.
