BJP for banning all tobacco products near educational institutions in TN

Chennai: The state unit of the BJP has demanded a complete ban on tobacco related products and also immediate winding up shops selling cigarettes near educational institutions.
Claiming that nearly 98 per cent of the shops selling tobacco related products are located near schools and colleges, BJP state president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan who launched her party’s awareness rally at Marina here on Tuesday, called for the closure of those shops.
Director and yesteryear actor T. Rajendar created awareness by participating in the BJP’s anti-tobacco rally. A large number of BJP cadres and members of the public took part in the rally.
