TN CM to release new books for revised syllabus

Chennai :Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palanisamy is likely to release new books based on the revised syllabus for classes 1, 6, 9 and 11 on May 3.

State Council for Educational Research and Training is preparing the new books under revised syllabus for last six months. Over 60 teams are involved in writing, editing and designing the books.

“The printing of new textbooks 70 per cent over and the printing works will get over before May 20. The books will be transported to the districts before May 25 to be distributed to the students on the first day after summer vacation,” a source said.

The new books will have several innovations like thematic approach, more importance to the pictures and knowledge extension opportunities to learn from outside the textbooks like giving the online resources. It will also have QR code to give video lessons to the students.
