Hyderabad: Traffic Constable Rajashekar Goud from Malakpet Traffic Police station was on Monday seen helping a motorist fix a flat tyre that was disrupting traffic at T Junction, Malakpet.
The traffic constable came forward to help the motorist after he observed him struggling while changing the tyre in the scorching sun. Head constable P Rajashekhar Goud from Malakpet Traffic police station told this newspaper, “When I reported to duty on Monday at 1:45pm, I observed that the driver of a mini-truck was struggling alone in repairing the punctured tyre on the maid road. The sudden puncture also caused a huge traffic jam at Malakpet junction.”
He adds, “It took half an hour to fix the tyre and I thought it would be better to repair on my own instead of calling a mechanic. I am glad that I could help a helpless man on the road, the driver was really happy because of my help. I helped the driver thinking it was my duty to help the citizens of this city.”
While appreciating the help done by the traffic police, Hyderabad Traffic Additional Commissioner said that traffic cops go all the way to help motorists when there is any obstruction on the roads, and added that the department would give recognition and cash rewards to those who do so....
