3 of 5 JEE toppers are from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh

Of 11,35,084 candidates, 2,31,024 candidates qualified for JEE Advanced.

Hyderabad: Two candidates from Andhra Pradesh namely Suraj Krishna Bhogi and K.V.R. Hemant Kumar Chodipilli secured All India Rank 1st and 2nd rank in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2018 results declared on Monday by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Parth Laturia from Rajasthan secured AIR Rank 3 with 350 marks, Pranav Goyal from Haryana secured AIR Rank 4 and Gattu Mytraya from Telangana secured AIR Rank 5. The results were announced at 6 pm on jeemain.nic.in and cbseresults.nic.in on Monday evening.

As many as 2,31,024 candidates of JEE Main 2018 qualified for appearing in JEE Advanced 2018 out of 11,35,084 candidates who appeared in the exam.
The sixth edition of JEE Main 2018 offline exam was held on April 8, 2018, for which 6,39,205 boys and 2,58,555 girls and 3 transgenders registered for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes in NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutions. The offline exam was conducted in 113 cities whereas the online exam was conducted in 258 cities. The offline exam (JEE Main) was conducted on 8 April and the online exam was held on April 15 and 16. The answer key for JEE Main 2018 was released on April 24 by the CBSE.

Those who cleared JEE main are eligible to take part in JEE advanced and about 14 lakh students appeared for the JEE Main 2018. The JEE examination is conducted every year for admission into the architecture and engineering courses in NITs, IITs across the country and serves as an entrance examination for JEE Advanced as well. Though there will be no weightage for marks obtained in Class XII board exams, candidates who clear the exam are required to secure at least 75 per cent marks in Class 12 (regular/improvement) Board Exam to be eligible for admission in IITs, NITs, and CFTIs. The registration process for JEE Advanced will begin on May 2 The exam will be conducted online on the same day.
