Three years RI for former bureaucrat for illegal assets

Hyderabad: The CBI court here sentenced former secretary to Mizoram government Kavadi Narasimha to undergo three years rigorous imprisonment and pay a fine of Rs 1 lakh for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The CBI had registered a case in 2006 against Narasimha on allegations that while working as a public servant from 1991 to 2006 he had amassed disproportionate assets of Rs 32.31 lakh.

The CBI filed a chargesheet on June 30, 2010. After a long trial, the CBI court found him guilty and convicted him. Narasimha was sacked from services in 2017 for his non-performance in the All India services and corruption charges.
