PM Modi, K Chandrasekhar Rao, Rahul Gandhi to hit Telangana today

BJP heavyweights Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj and Nitin Gadkari are also expected to campaign in the state.

Hyderabad: The state will witness hectic electioneering with Narendra Modi, K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Rahul Gandhi canvassing in the state on Monday.

Since the CM’s meeting comes after the speeches of Mr Gandhi and Mr Modi, Mr Rao is expected to counter-attack them.

This will be Mr Modi’s second meeting in the state after the one in Mahbubnagar, and the first for Mr Gandhi after the polls were notified.

BJP heavyweights Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj and Nitin Gadkari are also expected to campaign in the state.

Mr Modi will address a public meeting at 3 pm at LB Stadium, Hyderabad. Mr Gandhi will unveil the outline of the party’s manifesto at a meeting in Zaheerabad at noon and hold public meetings at Wanaparthi at 2 pm and Huzurnagar at 4 pm.

TPCC treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy said the manifesto would be a strategic plan to address all core issues. He pointed out that then Congress president Sonia Gandhi had ensured bifurcation of the state despite political risks as it had been promised in the manifesto. Mr Rao will address a public meeting at Ramagundam in Peddapalli constituency at 4 pm.
