Heat alert in Kerala to be continued

On Sunday, a total of 20 heat rash cases, 13 sunburn cases and two sunstroke cases were reported in the state.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: High temperatures will prevail in the state till Tuesday as per the Indian Meteorology Department. It has predicted a 2 to 3 degree rise in the average temperatures in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Idukki, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasargode districts.

On Sunday, a total of 20 heat rash cases, 13 sunburn cases and two sunstroke cases were reported in the state. Around 721 cases of heat rash, sunburn and sunstroke were reported in the state in the past one month.

The State Disaster Management Authority has warned against going out in the direct sun from 11 am to 3 pm. The authorities have also given strict instructions to educational institutions to avoid summer classes
