TRS corporators accused of corruption

Submitting call records and other evidence to the ACB.

Hyderabad: Former LB Nagar MLA Sudheer Reddy on Friday lodged a complaint with the ACB against three TRS corporators accusing them of demanding money from private builders.

Submitting call records and other evidence to the ACB, Mr Reddy said that the corporators demanded Rs 2 lakh for each projects in their constituencies.

He alleged that Mansoorabad corporator K. Vittal Reddy, Lingojiguda corporator M. Srinivas Rao and LB Nagar corporator’s husband M. Ram Mohan Rao met some private builders promising them to get them an appointment with a minister to get permission for their projects.

“The corporators told them that they were anyway spending Rs 2 crore to Rs 4 crore on each of their projects, and they could easily pay Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh for getting building permissions. The entire negotiations were videotaped and we have submitted the evidence to the ACB,” Mr Sudheer Reddy said.

“Corporators are public servants, so they should be booked and investigated by the ACB,” he added.

ACB officials said that they were yet to book a case in connection with the complaint. However, an inquiry has been launched to investigate the complaint.
