Video: Man dragged half-a-km after being hit by car
Gurgaon: A man was allegedly dragged for half-a-km after being hit by a car whose driver made a bid to escape from the accident spot on Old Delhi road in Gurgaon.
Police said the incident occurred on March 28 when Prateek Kumar and his 3-year-old son were on way to their uncle's house around 5.50 PM.
In a complaint filed with police, Kumar stated, "When I reached near BSNL office on old Delhi road, a black coloured Honda city hit my car from behind. I came out of the car and demanded compensation for the damage.
"At first, the driver talked normally and asked for the car to be parked beside the road for further negotiation. As soon as he sat in the car, he pushed the accelerator paddle in a bid to flee from the spot."
Kumar said that he followed the accused for one km on his car and tried to stop him. He came out of his car and was hit by the other vehicle "intentionally".
"I fell on the bonnet of his car and was dragged for half-a-km," he said, adding the accused also rammed five bikers in his bid to escape from the spot.
Hawa Singh, PRO of Gurgaon police, said an FIR has been registered against the unidentified car driver and efforts are on to nab the culprit.
"We are investigating the case and trying to identify the registration number of the car so that the accused can be put behind bars," Singh said.
However, when the victim approached sector 14 police post to register a complaint, the cops turned down his application saying he did not have any fractures or injury marks.
"I approached some of the shops having CCTV cameras and requested them to provide the footage. An FIR was registered on Wednesday when I presented the proof," the victim said.
