Hyderabad: City mayor Gadwal R. Vijayalakshmi is once again in the news, this time for a different reason. A video of Vijayalakshmi sharing her food with her dog went viral on social media. The video features the mayor hand-feeding Teddy, her one-and-a-half year old spitz, from her plate, and eating from the same plate.
Asked about the video, Vijayalakshmi told Deccan Chronicle said that pets had been part of her life since childhood. “I love dogs and have had several since my childhood. I bought Teddy immediately after losing Sharpie," she said, referring to a previous pet.
She said that Teddy was very attached to her. “Teddy won't have food if not hand-fed three times a day,” she said.
The video was apparently filmed when a party worker visited Vijayalakshmi’s house on some errant and found the Mayor sharing her meal with the dog. Party workers found the video cute and shared it on social media.
