Kottayam: The Nair Service Society finds EWS sops getting late for community

Any delay on the part of the govt in initiating required steps shall be regarded as nothing but a grave disregard to the EWS.

Kottayam: The Nair Service Society (NSS) has called for a speedy implementation of the recommendations of the Kerala State Commission for Economically Weaker Sections Among the Forward Communities.

In a statement here on Thursday, NSS general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair maintained that the state government had the duty as well as obligation to act on the report before the announcement of the parliamentary election.

Any delay on the part of the govt in initiating required steps shall be regarded as nothing but a grave disregard to the EWS.

He said a new commission was essential during the implementation of these recommendations.

“It is learnt that the commission chaired by Justice A.V. Ramakrishna Pillai submitted its report directly to the Chief Minister on February 19 and was dissolved on completion of its tenure on February 25. The government, however, has neither initiated any follow-up nor constituted a new commission,” Mr Nair said.
