Tiruchy: Rs 129 crore utilised under CM health insurance scheme

District project officer of the scheme, R.Kishorekumar said that Rs 5.55 lakh family persons were brought under this scheme.

Srirangam: Under the Chief Minister’s comprehensive health insurance scheme, so far, 59,270 persons were benefitted to the tune of Rs 129.49 crore worth various treatments, across Tiruchy district, according to Tiruchy Collector K S Palanisamy.

He took a press party to inspect a few patients who have undergone treatment under this scheme at the government hospital at Srirangam on Tuesday and told visiting newsmen that so far, 4,543 cardiac surgeries, 12233 cancer-related treatment, 10,878 kidney treatment, 5684 infant treatment, 4774 gynecological treatment, 3432 neurosurgeries, 3,325 eye surgeries and 1235 ortho and knee replacement surgeries have been performed.

District project officer of the scheme, R.Kishorekumar said that Rs 5.55 lakh family persons were brought under this scheme and 5.32 lakh smart cards issued.
