Chennai: Former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam team has come up with an innovative idea of observing the 69th birth anniversary of their leader and late Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa by launching the Amma Kalviyagam.
This free online education portal: www.ammakalviyagam.in will be officially launched on Wednesday by Mr. Panneerselvam at his Greenways Residence here and it aims to attract the students.
After their initial efforts to celebrate the birth anniversary of late Jayalalithaa went in vain, the OPS team has hit upon this novel concept of spreading their leader’s name in education too. It may be recalled that Mr. Panneerselvam had alleged that police declined to grant permission to his supporters to celebrate the 69th birth anniversary of his predecessor. “When permission was sought for holding programmes such as rallies, hoisting of party flags and distribution of welfare schemes, the police refused it,” he claimed.
