KTR asks students about schemes

ADILABAD: A discussion about the Rythu Bandhu scheme between IT minister K.T. Rama Rao and a Class 10 schoolgirl of Charlapalli village was the highlight of a programme, wherein the minister inaugurated a residential building in Kamalapur of Huzurabad in Hanamkonda district.

During an interaction with students of Jyotiba Phule Telangana BC Residential School and KGBV, Rama Rao asked the student, Pravallika, if she was aware of the Rythu Bandhu scheme, after enquiring about her family’s occupation and land ownership.

She said that Rs. 5,000 was given under the scheme, which the minister corrected to Rs. 5,000 per acre and that her family would get Rs. 10,000 annually.

She said she had heard of the scheme two years ago.

He asked Pravallika about her preparations for board exams, facilities at the hostel and the expenditure by the state government per student in residential schools. Pravallika replied that the state was spending Rs. 1.2 lakh on each student, for their books, uniforms, and creating infrastructure. The minister also interacted with two other girl students, Harini and Vamshika, of different classes.

He enquired about food and whether chicken was served to them regularly. Rama Rao asked Harini about what she learnt in digital classes.

The minister urged students to make the best use of the resources available to them to bring laurels to the state and their families.

On the day, Rama Rao also inaugurated the Karimnagar Circuit Rest House, constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 12.99 crore and the MLA camp office, at Rs. 4 crore, in Karimnagar town. Rama Rao also addressed a public meeting in Jammikunta.

Ministers Gangula Kamalakar, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Koppula Eshwar, Telangana planning committee chairman B. Vinod Kumar, BRS MLAs S. Ravishankar, Rasamai Balakishan, D. Manohar Reddy, M. Sanjay, Korukanti Chander, collector R.V Karnan and police commissioner Subba Rayudu were present.
