Himachal Pradesh adopts Telangana government project model

CM Jairam Thakur added that policy changes have also been made to make it easy for investors to conduct their activity in the state.

Hyderabad: On the lines of the Telangana state government, Himachal Pradesh has modified its approval process by providing a single window system to clear permissions to projects within 15 days for industries and penalising officers who do not stick to schedule.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur held a road show in Hyderabad on Thursday, urging investors to participate in the first edition of Rising Himachal Global Investors’ Meet 2019 on June 10 and 11 at Dharamshala.

Mr Thakur said, “Under this (single window) Act, we are setting time limits for various approvals for speedy implementation of projects and penalty will be imposed on defaulting officers. Investors will get time-bound approval related to land purchase and power connections.”

He said that Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state had made major contributions to the growth of hydro and pharma sectors and appreciated investors from Hyderabad who worked in places in Himachal Pradesh which are tough in terms of their geographical location.

He added that since his government came to power a year ago, they had made significant efforts at improving the ease of doing business which was visible in the improved rankings. He hoped to attract an investment of over Rs 80,000 crore into the state.He urged investors to consider HP because of the good atmosphere, work culture, good law and order situation and pollution-free environment. He added that policy changes have also been made to make it easy for investors to conduct their activity in the state.

The state is inviting investments in tourism, horticulture, agriculture, infrastructure, hydel and all other sectors which can contribute to the development of Himachal Pradesh and government will extend all possible help to them.
