ACB raids house of mining wing chief
Visakhapatnam: The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday raided Geology and Mines department, assistant director Gondu Shivaji's residence in MVP Colony and uncovered assets worth around Rs 2 crore.
The search operations continued simultaneously at seven other places including his office and residences of his relatives in Vizag and Vizianagaram districts.
The team, led by DSP of ACB-Vizag Kinjarapu Ramakrishna Prasad, conducted searches at his brother’s house at MVP Colony in Vizag, another brother’s house at Vizianagaram Ring Road, his native place Bantupalli village of Denkada mandal in Vizianagaram and the residence of his brother-in-law at Peddipalem village of Bhimili.
According to the ACB, Gondu Shivaji owns a two-storeyed house at Kapuluppada and agricultural land in Bhogapuram mandal.
Another three-storeyed building is under construction at Parawada.
The ACB seized a Rs 82.77 lakh in cash and gold jewellery weighing 1,798 gm from his residence and various bank lockers.
The document value of the assets seized is around Rs 2 crore, the ACB said. Sources say that the market value would be much more than on the documents
