TD is hoping to be with BJP after polls

The TD had made it clear that it can't go for elections like in 2014 as TD-BJP-Jana Sena.

VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam (TD) is exercising on power game to be in reign again in 2019 elections. TD has a notion that its alliance with Jana Sena will benefit it more compared to TD-BJP alliance as Jana Sena can never go with the BJP.

At the same time, TD isn’t intending to break its alliance with the BJP as it strongly believes that BJP will come to throne at the Centre in the 2019 elections. With this, TD is thinking about convincing BJP on its alliance post elections and anticipating the BJP’s reaction on it and is brainstorming the next steps to be taken if BJP is not taking a favourable decision.

A senior minister has shared that there isn’t scope to break alliance with the NDA as it can’t go with the UPA and the chances of third force formation are very less.

He further expressed about the necessity to handle the situation very sensibly with the BJP. TD strongly believes that YSRC will never tie-up with BJP before the polls despite of the speculations on YSRC -BJP relationship. On the other side, though with the NDA, TD is struggling hard to be far from the BJP before the elections. TD fears that public will deny it if its alliance with the BJP continues, in view of the ineffective implementation of special package and denial of ‘special category’ status.

Likewise, there aren’t any significant marks of development in any of the segments with the TD-BJP alliance which makes TD wish to be far from the BJP until the elections.

At the same time, Jana Sena has cleared many times that it will have no alliance with the BJP at any point of time. Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan also criticised the BJP leaders sharply and even alleged the BJP of showing discrimination between north and south. The TD had made it clear that it can’t go for elections like in 2014 as TD-BJP-Jana Sena.

A senior minister shared that Jana Sena cadre and Pawan Kalyan community are anticipating to go with TD.
