Chandrababu Naidu's focus on drones, drains, Anna canteens
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu ordered the setting up of a drone management system in the municipal administration and urban development (MAUD) department to monitor development work. He also ordered the completion of 3,000 kilometres of drainage before March 15.
Mr Naidu approved 200 drones to record and provide data for the analysis of the performance of all municipalities.
Mr Naidu was interacting with MAUD department officials on Wednesday and reviewed the progress of ongoing projects.
Mr Naidu was informed that Shapoorji Pallonji would complete the underground drainage by December this year, and L&T would complete 444 km of major and minor drains by November 1.
Regarding urban housing, 6,81,733 houses have been sanctioned under the PM Awas Yojana in urban areas.
Mr Naidu reviewed recent drone footage of the work going on in Rajahmundry, Nellore, Peddapuram, Bhima-varam, Palkol, Chilaka-luripeta, Ponnuru and other parts of the state.
Mr Naidu instructed officials to strictly coordinate with the Praja Sadhikara Survey and update the database of beneficiaries.
He asked about the Anna canteens. Pfficials presented a report on the study conducted on Amma canteens in Tamil Nadu and Indira Canteen in Bengaluru.
They also presented seven sample menus, one for each day of the week, after research on nutrition and pricing. Mr Naidu shared the Anna canteens should maintain maintain high standards of hygiene.
