HC stays release of movie Mottai Shiva Ketta Shiva

The master's court granted the interim injunction on an application filed by film financier Mukundchand Bothra.

Chennai: The release of Tamil film “Mottai Shiva Ketta Shiva”, starring Raghava Lawrence and Nikki Gairani, scheduled to be released on February 17, has been stayed by the master’s court in the city.

The master’s court granted the interim injunction on an application filed by film financier Mukundchand Bothra. The order dated January 11 restrained Sivabalan Pictures, Super Good Films, Real Image Media Technologies private limited and UFO from releasing the film.

According to Bothra, Vendhar Movies represented by Madhan, had borrowed Rs 7.5 crore from him in 2016 with a promise of repaying it by May 2016. Since the amount was not repaid as per the agreement, the matter was referred to the arbitration tribunal. Under section 17 of the Arbitration Act, the tribunal restrained Madhan from releasing the movie. Thereafter, he moved the master’s court with the present application for execution of the order of the tribunal.
