The state government has sanctioned Rs 4.20 crore towards grand celebrations of Lepakshi fete. The film star-turned-politician Balakrishna would head the historic celebrations of Lepakshi Utsavalu.
The two-day fete will host different cultural activities with artistes and film stars from Telugu, Kannada and Tamil languages.
Rayalaseema and Andhra Ruchulu will be a special attraction for the visitors during the two-day celebrations, sources said.
IT minister Palle Raghunath Reddy said several new works were proposed for the occasion and the officials have been told to speed up and complete it.
The handlooms and textile departments will also set up stalls to highlight the traditional silk fabric of Vijayanagara Empire.
The temple authorities said the long-pending Dhwaja Sthambam would be erected in a week. It may be noted that the Dhwaja Sthambam at Sri Veerabhadreswara Swamy temple was damaged one year ago and a new one was to replace it.
But, it was pending due to non-availability of wood and suitable wood was transported from Rampachodavaram forest area. The process would be finished in a week, the authorities said.
