K Chandrasekhar Rao's Dallas dreams' childish, says Shabbir Ali

Shabbir Ali accused Mr Rao of enacting a drama of rivalry' with his AP counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition in the TS Legislative Council Shabbir Ali has ridiculed Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s claim of developing Hyderabad on the lines of Dallas in the USA.

Addressing reporters here on Sunday, Mr Shabbir Ali said that Mr Rao must explain why he wants to emulate Dallas, since Hyderabad is better placed than the US city in terms of having an international airport, Outer Ring Road, IT sector and other areas.

“Earlier, KCR wanted to adopt the Singapore model. Then, he turned towards Istanbul and now he is speaking about Dallas. Such talk is nothing but childish,” he said.

Mr Shabbir Ali accused Mr Rao of enacting a drama of ‘rivalry’ with his AP counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu. “Both greet each other and exchange gifts on all occasions. They have been maintaining a close relationship off camera, but in view of elections, KCR and Naidu are attacking each other. They are enacting a fight, just like a couple who wants to shoo away unwanted guests,” he alleged, asking why was Mr Rao not taking action against Mr Naidu in ‘cash-for-vote’ case.

“However, the TS CM using phrase like ‘what business Naidu has in Hyderabad’ and he should go to Amaravati’ is an indirect threat to people hailing from Seemandhra region,” Mr Shabbir Ali said. “Tomorrow, KCR might say the same thing to people of other regions,” he added.
