Hyderabad: Principal beats up boy
Hyderabad: A Class X student of the Shastra Grammar High School at Ibrahimpatnam was allegedly beaten up by the principal when he tried to talk to a friend during study time on Saturday morning. S. Manideepak suffered swellings on his back after he was hit by the principal, Sanal Josh.
Manideepak’s parents said that on Saturday at around 8.30 am when he was talking to one of his friends principal Sanal Josh caught him by the collar and hit him on the back. Manideepak suffered injuries on his back in the beating. However, the boy did not tell his parents about the incident. They came to know about the attack only on Sunday morning when Deepak's friends came home to check on him. The parents immediately filed a complaint with the police against the principal.
The police has made a general diary entry regarding the complaint and has started an investigation.
“Since this is a non-cognisable offence we will proceed as per court direction,” said Ibrahim-patnam sub inspector G. Nagaraju.
Physical education teacher assaults girl at residential school for BCs
A girl student, studying at the Telangana Backward Classes Residential School, was subjected to corporal punishment for speaking to her friends while queuing up at the dining hall on January 26. The incident came to ight on Sunday.
Inquires revealed that a physical education teacher of the institution beat Bogi Kavya Sri, a Class VIII student on the neck. Her neck swelled up as a result of the beating. Teachers of the school rushed the student to a primary health centre and provided treatment. She recovered from the pain later.
Speaking to this reporter, Kavya Sri said that she had experienced some pain on her neck as it swelled after being thrashed by the teacher. She claimed that she recovered from the pain by evening on the same day.
When asked, D. Anita, the teacher, said that she punishes students to maintain discipline. She claimed that many students had excelled in state and national level events due to her coaching and guidance.
