Muslim girls don't discuss triple talaq

No speaker touched on the instant triple talaq issue.

Hyderabad: The Muslim Girls Association discussed various issues confronting modern girls and women at a time when the country revolves around the triple talaq issue.

In a two-day national seminar which concluded on Monday, speakers focused on contemporary issues like education, ethical values, habits, domestic employment, lifestyle, time management, depression, anxiety and obsession.

No speaker touched on the instant triple talaq issue. More than 7,000 students and girls and delegates from 13 states participated in the conference.

Ms Nasreen Fatima, wife of home minister Mahmood Ali, addressed the conference which was held on the occasion of the silver jubilee of the organisation. She advised girls to desist from social media and spend more time on education. She advised girls to learn cooking and household work along with education.

Ms Anjum Babu Khan, director, Eden Glendale Academy, presented a power point presentation on the functioning of the brain and said that it was a great blessing of the Creator that human beings, applying their minds, can learn anything. She expressed sorrow over the poor representation of Muslim women in high ranking positions. She stressed that girls should present the true picture of Islam before other communities.
