Hyderabad: Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi on Monday instructed the officials to prepare a draft action plan for river rejuvenation before January 15, 2019 as per the orders of the National Green Tribunal (NGT).
Presiding over the River Rejuvenation Committee meeting on Monday at the secretariat, he directed the officials of irrigation, groundwater, metro water works, municipal and industries department to han dover their data pertaining to the different rivers in the state to the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) before January 5.
The chief secretary also asked the officials to prepare a watershed map for the entire state. He also suggested monitoring of water quality as part of a long-term plan.
