BC quota fixed with heavy heart, says TRS
Hyderabad: TRS leaders said that the state government had accepted the Supreme Court judgment on reservations for BCs after exploring all avenues. The state government had even filed a special leave petition in the apex court, TRS legislator Nomula Narasimhaiah said on Monday.
Speaking to mediapersons along with party leaders, Mr Narasimhaiah said the Supreme Court had dismissed the SLP. “After this, with a heavy heart, Chief Mini-ster K. Chandrasekhar Rao accepted the SC decision on BC reservations,” he said.
He alleged that TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Telangana Jana Samiti chief Prof. M. Kodandaram were shedding crocodile tears on the issue. He said the previous Congress governments had not released any money to the BC Federations. The TRS government had been providing investment with 90 per cent subsidy,
He challenged the Congress to get a resolution passed in all state Assemblies demanding 33 per cent reservations for BCs in legislative houses. He said that in the present circumstances there will be no use of an all-party delegation going to Delhi to secure an increase in reservations.
