Hyderabad: Following alleged harassment by husband, mother- in-law and sister-in-law, a housewife killed her three kids by pushing them into a well and then jumped into the same well in Siddipet district. The victims were identified as Golla Manem-ma, 32, daughters Sindhuja 12, Srilatha and Ajay 6.
According to police, Manemma, was married to Krishnaiah nearly 15 years ago. Her husband, mother- in-law Balamma and sister-in-law Alivelu kept harassing her on petty issues and were demanding more dowry from her.
Even while the kids were growing, the harassment continued to increase. On Friday, Krishnaiah, Balamma and Alivelu had a fight with her and they beat her severely.
On Saturday morning, after her husband left for work, the woman took her kids to a nearby well where she first pushed them into it. Then, she also jumped in and committed suicide.
Manemma’s family members, meanwhile, expressed suspicion that her husband’s family pushed the four into the well and were trying to show it as suicide. Police registered a case for abetment to suicide against Krishnaiah, Balamma and Alivelu.
